I've been hearing that Birds of Paradise is not going to be reprinted in 9th edition. Supposedly, it will see print again in the set after the Kamigawa block, but still, that sounds like it might be the final printing. This concerns me greatly, because even though I don't give a d**n about tournament legality, Birds is already a $10-15 card, which is a lot more than I'm willing to pay, especially considering that it has been reprinted in every base set, all the way up through 8th. There is really no reason it should go for as high a price as it does, but if it stops getting reprinted, then that price will likely go even higher. Anybody else want to speculate on this?

It's a decent card but i wouldn't pay that much for it. Maybe 3-4 dollars max. It does suck thats its not being reprinted in Base anymore. Are there any original cards from Alpha left?

Yeah, I believe so. Isn't Scathe Zombies still around at least? I know there are plenty more, but they're escaping me at the moment.

There is absoltly no reason why wizards should get rid of a great card like that. If people make the argument that its too fast. i say that if you can afford that 40some dollars to have 4 of them im a deck, you earned the right to have them

Well, I've been told that it's a false rumor. Since the players voted to keep it in 8th edition over Llanowar Elves (a decision they shouldn't have had to make at all), it would be downright mean of Wizards to take it out of 9th anyway.

well, it was a close decision and i personally would have voted against the Birds. It really isn't that great of a card unless the deck is 3-4 colors.

But they're also more expensive and harder to get than the "Lawnmower Elves," and there's not another identical card, like there is with Fyndhorn Elves

I'm still hearing those rumors though, in very large quantities.

I am still miserable that my deck that had 4 Birds of Paradise got pilfered though, I never did get replacements

I had a deck lifted once, but the best cards in there were Dream Halls, Phantom Warrior and Sol'Kanar the Swamp King. I can't imagine losing a deck with four Birds that way... Bad luck just seems to follow you, doesn't it?
