There's a debate about this going on at the WotC board. What will be the "chase rare" in Fifth Dawn, meaning the card that everybody will want, and will shoot up to around $20 in price? A lot of people seem to think it will be Engineered Explosives, although I am not really sure why.

well, you can destroy any creature with casting cost 5 or less if you have a 5 color deck.

Actually, no you can't. Read the card again, it states "equal to" not equal to or less than. That right there castrates it.

I meant it can destroy creatures of that casting, but it is your choice which number, and the only numbers you can choose are 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 0. which is what i meant by 5 or less

Any other guesses for the "chase rare"?

I'm starting to find Engineered Explosives useful, although it'd be better with more than one in my deck. With Bringer of the White Dawn, you can bring it back after you use it, and although it will have no counters on it, you can either sac it to kill zero-cost cards like Ornithopter, or you can charge it up with cards like Coretapper.

Greaves are good, that's probably the #2 uncommon, I'd say. Good way to protect key creatures once you get them in play, plus it lets you hit first turn with them.

Engineered Explosives, I think. Though I think KCI is gonna outdo it.

KCI hasn't performed as well as people thought though. It tends to usually drop to most decks, and definitely isn't Tier 1. It can't consistently compete with Raffinity or Tooth&Nail, and timely artifact hate beats KCI senseless.
