well, yeah. otherwise as soon as you tapped an island to play a counterspell, they all would be tapped, you take one damage, and now have to find alternate ways of paying for things.
in short: spells that can't be countered = bad thing

Doesn't change the fact I still hate the card.

Oh come on, you know you just want to take the card wrap your arms around it (or the equivalent) and hug the bloody card, and take it out to dinner. So it is a tiny bit overpowered. What happened to you that made you claim to hate the card so much?

Well, since we discovered this, it really isn't overpowered anymore. It's mostly that every single time it gets used, it's on me that I hate.

I don't know anyone that has ever used it period. Who uses it?

Well, it used to be in my blue deck, if you recall. I had two in there. And I barely ever played the deck. Back before Chris had his own cards (no, not the one who goes by Volrath the Fallen on this board, another Chris), he always used to play with my decks. Whenever he used that one, he always cast the Mana Web targeting me. Since I barely played the deck and seldom drew the Mana Web when I did, I decided to cut it from the deck just to prevent its being played against me.

Ah, I knew there was a reason that I didn't let anyone else play my decks.

Ah, I knew there was a reason that I didn't let anyone else play my decks. well look at it this way, if the person who used your deck wins then its really your deck that won with alitle help of the person who used it, thats why i sometimes lend a deck to a person who forgot theirs (usualy jmartin, or larry while at school) its all in how you look at it is the glass half empty or half full?? ;D i've always wanted to say that hehehe

The glass is too d**n big.....
And the other Chris is a memeber on the board. I think he goes by Kamahl.

But he never even stops by, let alone posts. Ordinarily I don't like other people playing my decks, but at the time he didn't have cards of his own. And I know a win with my deck should be a win for me even if I'm not playing it, but I don't look at it that way. Y'know why? Because then it works in reverse too. And if someone else plays my deck and loses, at least now I can still say it wasn't my loss because I probably would have played differently.

There's a difference between addressing a board member by their real name and referring to someone in the third person by their real name, especially someone who never comes to the board anyway.

So in conclusion, I hate Mana Web and want every copy in existence to burn, except for the one in my Weatherlight collection.
