I discovered a couple interesting multiplayer rules variants in this article. Although I haven't finished reading it yet, I will describe the two rules variations I have read about so far. Variant #1 - Let's call this one "Zombie Magic." Any player who is killed in a game re-enters the game as a servant (zombie) of the player that killed them. The defeated player shuffles all their stuff back into their library then searches their deck for 5 basic lands, puts them into play, draws a hand of 7 cards, and re-enters the game. Their life total, as well as that of the player that killed them and any other "zombies" of that player at the time, becomes X, which is the current life total of the player that just killed the other player minus 5. At minimum, their life total must be 5. The game ends when one player controls the rest. Variant #2 - Whenever a player in this format dies, they may enter a seperate game with another dead player. The winner of this subgame may re-enter the original game with the exact board position (cards in hand, play, graveyard, etc., as well as life total and everything else) with which they ended the subgame. If the main game ends, then all subgames going on at the time end as well. I would like to try these variants sometime. Let me know what you all think.

I have always liked Landless play. where cards in your deck may be played as spells or basic lands of that colour (so a Raging goblin could be played as a mountain). Is lots of fun to play
