Do you think its worth it? I mean if I buy a set its just going to sit in a binder and the cards are fun to own, but this takes the thrill of the hunt out of the equation. Thing is I'm looking at older sets that would take great difficulty to collect card by card. Troll & Toad has some good prices on the complete chronicles and homelands sets. The Ice Age set too is more but I think its about 110 or so. At least Ice Age is one of my favorite sets with loads of good artwork and it is a sizeable set.

I say do it, as far as collecting sets go. Its true the cards just sit there but its nice to flip through the cards. Buying a whole set at once can kill the hunt like you said but at least you have it all at once. But if you like piecing it together then do one at a time.

You would have to choose? It's a no contest, Full Alpha set is obviously better than a house to live in

They have the full Arabian Nights set too which if I could afford is only slightly cheaper and I could still afford an apartment.

Yeah Troll and Toad generally has a good stock of everything. Thats the site that just recently sold a booster box of Beta for about 15K.

It's been years since I ordered any cards online, but from what I remember Troll & Toad never had the best prices though. The only time they were a better buy than Cardshark or Moxdiamond is when the other two sites were out of stock.
And even then, I often found better prices on ebay. Of course, buying on ebay leaves you at the mercy of potential sellers who might try to screw you in any number of ways, but I've found if you pursue them you can get your money back if you need to.
Has Troll & Toad improved their prices or is that still the case?

Moxdiamond has been kinda screwy lately and my problem with cardshark is if I get stuck buying from multiple sellers sometimes the multiple shipping costs add up to be more. I do check cardshark first but trollandtoad isn't too bad these days. I bought a few tinkers for about 3 bucks and I've been able to get a lot of original print of cards fairly cheap and a lot of legends cards in Itallian for a good price. I got the last cards for Dark Ascension minus Sorin for about 20 and on cardshark sadly no one seller had all the cards i needed so with the mulltiple shipping costs it would have come to more. Plus trollandtoad does ship pretty quick. The order I placed wendsday got here by saturday.

Before the day is over I may or may not be buying the complete Homelands set as it is cheap and I am fond of the set. I'm just not sure if I want it right now or not but it is cheap at 45 bucks.

It is done I ordered Homelands. This makes 3 whole sets I'll have and 1 mostly complete set. Hopefully in 2 weeks I'll be able to afford the booster box of Innistrad to try to finish that off.

Homelands arrived today and I had forgotten about some fun cards like Chain Stasis. There's also the hidden gem Merchant Scroll a nice alternative to the tutors although a little more restrictive.

Yeah looking through all those sets takes me back to when I first started playing; lots of great cards. I never realized Merchant Scroll came from Homelands, that's really cool.
