yes, very good, the ability to create "unique" dragon types is real cool.

the basis of Breath of Fire III is that you are the last known survivor of the dragons, and in order to transform into one, you need to mix dragon "genes". Up to three can be used, and many different dragon types can be made with different combinations.

how would you define gameplay in an RPG? there are so many games with a different style of play. Final Fantasy has a basic turn-based combat system. Legend/Secret of Mana have a real-time combat system. Final Fantasy Tactics has a turn-based stratagy system, but is still considered an RPG. As for the story, it's old and cliche. Save for three, all of the LoZ games have had the same story; Princess Zelda has been kidnapped, you have to get the Master Sword and save her... again. You'd think she would learn self-defence in the time between kidnappings. Not to resurrect this debate, but Dragon Warrior 1 had the same basic kind of plot: Mysterious hero comes into town (though strangely without any weapons or armor), is given the task of saving the king's daughter from a dragon and defeating the evil force that kidnapped her and stole a magical artifact from the king's castle. And the princess of course falls in love with the hero.

but i still want some kind of variety when it comes to my RPG's. That's why D&D is so awesome to me. The story is always fresh, and the characters actually have personalities(unlike Dragon Warrior and LoZ).

I found a couple of games I enjoyed quite a bit on the PS2. Legend of Alon D'ar and Eternal Ring I thought were good. Legend of Alon D'ar is a game that I beat and began over again. Only done that with a few games. If you want to check them out thiey are both dirt cheap.
