Selecting 9th Edition, Week 6

WotC.com currently has a poll up, where players may vote whether they would rather see Balduvian Horde, Goblin Goon, or Rathi Dragon reprinted in 9th edition. There is also a vote between two preliminary sketches for a new picture for Mahamoti Djinn. You can vote here if you wish.

Once I dig them up, I will have results of the first five weeks of voting (I would have linked them here if I had known they were happening).

Okay, here's what I've found:

Week 1: Emperor Crocodile vs. Jade Leech. The Croc won by about a 2 to 1 margin.

Week 2:
Blinding Angel vs. Dawn Elemental. Blinding Angel won by a close margin, with about 55% of the vote.

Week 3:
Memory Lapse vs. Mana Leak. Unfortunately, Mana Leak won by about 2 to 1.

Week 4:
Havoc Demon vs. Yawgmoth Demon. Yawgmoth wins.

Week 5:
Persuasion vs. Confiscate and Rewind. Not surprisingly, Persuasion lost. I don't know what Wizards was thinking by pitting two cards against one. That result was a given, in my mind.

Also, there was a vote between two new sketches for Dancing Scimitar. this sketch by Jim Nelson vs. this sketch by Ron Spears. Ron Spears' sketch won, which I think is better anyway, although Mr. Nelson's had more of the Arabian flavor that should go with a card like Dancing Scimitar.

Week 6: Rathi Dragon vs. Balduvian Horde vs. Goblin Goon. Rathi Wins.

Week 7 results:

Temporal Adept beat Time Elemental (yay!) and Kev Walker's sketch for Spirit Link's new picture beat that of Ron Spencer.

Now for Week 8.
This week it's Viashino Sandstalker vs. Viashino Cutthroat.
Also, Zur's Weirding is getting new art: vote for either this sketch by rk post or this one by Mark Tedin.

And this is the best part: Wizards is holding a contest for new flavor texts for Shock, Naturalize, and Fear. If you have any great ideas, follow the above link to week 8's voting and follow the instructions there to submit them.

Week 8 results:

Viashino Sandstalker is in, Viashino Cutthroat is out. rk post's sketch for Zur's Weirding won, having a woman in it and all, and flavor text winners haven't been announced yet.

This week's vote: Hammer of Bogardan vs. Shard Phoenix. I voted for the Hammer because I still think Shard Phoenix is crap.

Also, this week's sketch vote is for the card Elvish Piper. You can vote for this sketch by Rebecca Guay, or this sketch by Terese Nielsen. I voted for Ms. Guay's sketch.
