Here's a list of what is supposed to be in 9th edition as of right now. Only about 50 or so of the cards are confirmed apparently.

Excellent I am hoping ot see some good cards in 9th. I liked 7th and thought 8th was better so hopefully 9th can outdo 8th.

Would be nice. I'd like to see Llanowar Elves again in 9th, just because it's a good card to use...

I was kinda suprised to see Serra Angel. Only because it seems that a lot of the old cards that have made it into multiplule printings have finally been left alone. Take a look at Dark Ritual.

serra angel is one of the few cards that has made it all the way from alpha. Its probably because it is a strictly core set card. a couple others have made it all the way through too, i just can;t think of them.

Though Serra Angel took a break in 5th and 6th edition because they thought it was "too good" back then. Now they put it back in and you get a bunch of people saying it's junk, that it isn't good at all.
Tsk tsk, people need to know their Magic history and properly venerate the classics.

I was kinda suprised to see Serra Angel. Only because it seems that a lot of the old cards that have made it into multiplule printings have finally been left alone. Take a look at Dark Ritual. As for Dark Ritual, the reason they axed it is because it gives black a big speed advantage over the other colors. The only other color with good mana acceleration is green, and those are all creatures so you can blast them away. Essentially, Dark Ritual allows black players to do on turn 1 what other colors have to wait til turn 2 to do. For example, Hypnotic Specter can come out on the first turn with a Ritual. And that's scary for any opponent except maybe if they're playing red and can Shock it out of the air right away. So essentially people thought Dark Ritual was too powerful. Not saying I agree, but that's why it's gone. Pretty much the same case for Counterspell in blue, although that's part of a larger effort by WotC to crap on blue in general lately.
