All the type 2 bannings are things they should have done last year when they banned Skullclamp. Funny how back then anybody who said affinity was too powerful was called a noob and told they didn't know anything about Magic, and now Wizards pulled a bigger flip-flop than John Kerry was accused of.

Its one big bonehead move after another by Wizards. Although the only reason their doing this is to push the use of Kamigawa since only way to beat affinity is with affinity or some sort of anti affinity deck. That's why I am not a type 2 player although this will at least get some more interesting decks in tournament use.

That it will. They insisted during Mirrodin block that affinity wasn't too powerful, but now they have to disassemble the deck in order for people playing the new cards to have a chance. Just goes to show they made a big mistake.

At least until the new version of Proboards comes out and we're able to tell it to replace whole words only. If that ever comes out.

Another change that was made but is easily overlooked: the three Portal sets are going to become legal in Type 1. This really isn't going to affect the format much because most of the cards in these sets are crap. However, one card really sticks out that I predict is going to make it into a lot of decks: Imperial Seal. This Vampiric Tutor clone is, unfortunately, ridiculously expensive. A quick ebay search showed a Chinese copy going for upwards of $80 with more than a day left, and it's impossible to find an English copy for under $100.
