If I have Phyrexian Negator in play and it's dealt 3 damage, and I sacrifice the Negator itself for the first damage, do I still have to sacrifice two other permanents?
Direct damage is the enforcer of sanity in Magic. It ends the game when a bunch of dorks clog up the board with 28 variations of Fog Bank, Puppeteer, Silent Arbiter, and Ensnaring Bridge.
