Is there a way to conter imprinting a spell onto a card? Say if I were to put something like an overrun on a Panoptic Mirror could that be countered or would the mirror have to be destroyed or returned to my hand for me to loos the Overrun?

Yes. It is possible to counter imprinting a spell onto a card. However, the way in which you do so depends on which card is doing the imprinting. For a Panoptic Mirror, imprinting is an activated ability because you pay a cost. Therefore, you can use Stifle, Bind or Rust to counter the imprint. For cards such as Isochron Scepter, imprinting happens as a triggered ability when it comes into play. This you can still counter with Stifle. Also, you can counter imprinting a card by simply casting Time Stop in response to the imprint, which ends the turn and counters every spell and ability still on the stack when it resolves.

Thanks I was just wondering if it could be done. Imprinting can be very powerful and annoying.
