Creatures: 4 Marsh Viper2 Sabertooth Cobra2 Peacekeeper1 Fountain WatchOthers: 4 Fire Whip3 Fertile Ground1 Fruition4 Taste of Paradise1 Wrath of God2 Spiritual Asylum1 Feldon's Cane1 Mangara's Tome1 Bubble MatrixLands: 10 Forest5 Mountain7 Plains1 Shivan Oasis2 Thawing GlaciersThe strategy in this deck is simple: protect myself from attacks with Peacekeeper until I get a Marsh Viper (or Sabertooth Cobra, in a pinch) enchanted with a Fire Whip, then I throw up the rest of my protective wall (Spiritual Asylum, Fountain Watch, Bubble Matrix) so that the only way to hurt me is direct damage and the only way to hurt my creatures is mass effects like Wrath of God or the Disk. I would use Ivory Mask too, but I don't own it. Anyway, at this point, I have an enchanted Viper that can tap to load up the opponent with poison counters, and nothing of mine can be targeted, nor can anyone attack. The rest of the deck is just speed (Thawing Glaciers, Mangara's Tome, etc.). And yes, this deck is less than 60 cards, but it was made under 5th edition rules, so screw the rule, it was legal then.

Black poison creatures are inferior. Swamp Mosquito is nice because it flies, but 1 Crypt Cobra and 1 Pit Scorpion are crap. The Cobra is the biggest poison dealer in the game, but it's still only 3/3. Plus, the Mosquito and Cobra have to attack and not be blocked, rather than just dealing damage. A straight poison deck can't go up against most decks in creature combat, as the creatures are weak and not very numerous. Therefore, the only way I have found to make a successful poison deck is to build a defensive wall and provide non-combat ways to deal the poison, such as Fire Whip.

I made some changes to this deck, including cutting red entirely. I replaced the Fire Whips with Viridian Longbows, and I added a few other cards. I'll put up the changes in a day or so, whenever I get around to it.
