White creature removal, without giving out life like 1 Swords to Plowshares. Pretty good. Since it's color-based, that balances it out too, so taking something that's normally the domain of red (X damage) isn't such a big deal.

It should also be half damage for artifact creatures (constructs).

Indeed we are. In fact, it's Volrath's repeated use of that spell in my Ravenloft campaign that inspired this spell.
