sorceries typically have a colored casting cost. I would make this an artifact that you can sac. Lets say....casting cost of 0-2 and activation of 8 and it also must be sacrificed

Yeah. I was thinking instead of making it a casting cost of , with an additional X that you may pay with only basic land, and that's how you determine what to destroy.

I did find a major loophole to this card: An artifact deck with mostly nonbasic lands. The card would have little effect on a deck like this.
