Mox Lotus Thing

So I was trying to come up with a semi-cool Lotus/Moxen hybrid variant thing in Precal. My first pass came out like this:

[Name] 0
Artifact
As an additional cost to play ~, sacrifice X lands. ~ comes into play with X charge counters on it.
T: Add X mana of any color to your mana pool, where X is the number of charge counters on ~.

Then I realized that made a second turn kill stupid easy:

This + Island + Any other land + Freed from the Real + Fireball/Blaze/Demonfire/Stroke of Genius/A million other X spells.

So that was out.

My new version is the same, except it loses a charge counter when it taps. Thoughts?

Did you happen to check if our autocard link thingy still works? I'm gonna have to look a couple of those up...

EDIT: Autocard appears to not get updated anymore. We'll probably have to switch our links here to Gatherer.

Anyway, about the card. Freed From the Real only works on creatures. Nonetheless, I think your revised card idea is better. Although the card is still killable by even the cheapest artifact hate, it still begs to be abused in an Academy-like manner, though perhaps not on the first or second turn.
