I have a sunburst deck, and while it's not the greatest thing ever and far from competitive, I think I have some knowledge of what it takes to be good. Bump up the Joiner Adepts. If you have enough, you could do the entire deck with just forests. If money is a problem and Joiner Adept is out of your price range, or if your metagame has a lot of creature hate, then you could try Pulse of Llanowar instead. You specified inexpensive, so I suppose you don't want me to tell you that 4 Birds of Paradise would be a good idea. Same goes for Glimmervoid. Skyreach Manta is pretty good. It can be a 5/5 flyer for 5 mana, or even 4 if you're willing to use Channel the Suns. I recommend against using Fist of Suns, simply because you don't really need it. Sure, it lets you put 5 counters on Pentad Prism instead of 2, but chances are you don't need that many. Speaking of Pentad Prism, bump that up to 4. That is without a doubt the best sunburst card. You might consider adding another Clearwater Goblet as well. I can't testify to how effective that is because I don't own any. Can you get ahold of any Bringers? They really fit in a sunburst deck. I would recommend any but the red one because it kinda sucks. The blue or white bringers are best (just think Bringer of the White Dawn + Mindslaver). If you're running Clearwater Goblet, then you can probably get away with Bringer of the Black Dawn without too much trouble as well. Best way to get Bringers in quickly is with Channel the Suns. I cannot emphasize this enough. You could easily drop a bringer 3rd turn with Pentad Prism + Channel the Suns. And since your land base implies you are not worried about keeping this Type 2 (unless I'm missing something), then you might throw in a Lotus Petal depending on what format you're going for.

I have White Bringer, but left it out due to the fact almost all my creatures are 0/0s. Thanks for the advice, it will come in handy. Okay, can you give me something supposing money is no object, for hypothetical purposes? And do you think that Dual Lands would help?

i have never played a sunburst deck, but if money is no object, dual lands are spectacular (or pain lands if money is tight). mycosynth lattice could help out if you can find a way to get it in quickly.
Hey, Maraxus. why don't you show him your build. maybe it'll give him some ideas. between the 2 of you, a competitive sunburst deck could be crated.

'K. I'd take out the T&N, probably. Neurok Stealthsuit. -1 Ingot. Oust the White Bringer. Maybe more to say later.

T&N is in there for fun because I just got one and needed something to do with it.
The Stealthsuit has been ousted since I posted the deck. It was mostly in for my meta because Volrath here likes to kill Birds of Paradise just for fun, even when there are better targets for creature hate spells on the table.

If Sunburst is to be competitive, it's got to have answers for threats from other competitive decks, such as Raffinity, Tooth & Nail, Big Red, Crystal Witness, and any others I'm not thinking of right now (you can probably get by without worrying about Slide or Goblins since they're rotating out of type 2 soon). Of course, if you're looking to be competitive in a format other than Type 2, then you've got a different (and larger) set of competition to worry about.

sunburst and the bringers were a good idea at the time but then every 1 just forgot about it and went on to other things
