I just realized something last night when I was about to go to bed: Toshi Umezawa is the Boba Fett of Magic.

Think about it. He's infinitely resourceful. He always has tricks up his sleeve (he just uses magic instead of technology). He always has contingency plans, some of which are just there for rainy days. He always gets away somehow. Like Boba Fett, he's really not a bad guy, he just cares about money and stuff. He doesn't like to work with others either, although he's not quite as bad as Fett in that respect.

I'm basing a lot of this comparison on the Bounty Hunter Wars trilogy by K.W. Jeter, which is something any Star Wars fan should read. It details several stories at once, including how/why he didn't die in Return of the Jedi, as well as linking him to Prince Xizor from Shadows of the Empire and explaining why all the other bounty hunters fear and mistrust him, beyond the fact he's better than they are.

Though Toshi seems a little more inclined toward good than Fett.

Why thinks he and Michiko are going to fall in love? I'd say a seventy percent chance in favor.

There's a good chance, but I rather hope they don't as it's awful cliché.

I know it is, which, now I think of it, raises the likelihood to certainty.

Now I think, I hope it happens, just because I'm a romantic jerk type person.
