Discuss, or ask questions about, it.
Discuss: Interesting how our theory that Toshi/Michiko would fall in "wuv" has been cast into doubt... OR HAS IT? MWA HA HA HA HA!

I thought it was a step down from the first book. Maybe it's because it took so d**n long for anything to HAPPEN in the book.
Or maybe it's because they make Marrow Gnawer out to be a wimp.
Or maybe it's because I don't like to see Yosei get his ass beat.
Or maybe it's because it's just fallen victim to the "middle of a trilogy" syndrome, and that's why it's the weakest of the three. I dunno.

I dunno. Yah, the "middle of the trilogy" syndrome does exist... For example, take the Abhorsen trilogy by Garth Nix. Great starting book, but Lirael was one of the most boring books I've ever read... Or at least the parts with Nick. Then it got cool again in the next book. On the other hand, The Two Towers is my favorite book in the LoTR trilogy.

LotR is one of a few exceptions. Indiana Jones is also an exception, as I felt Temple of Doom to be the best of the lot. And the original Star Wars trilogy is also debatable, as many people find Empire Strikes Back to be the best of the series (not me though, I still like the first one).
