If you take a look at prices for cards for Arabian Nights, you will see that cards are on average far more expensive than sets from the same time period, such as Antiquities, Legends, and particularly The Dark. Any clue as to why this is? I know Arabian Nights was a very small set, but you'd think that would increase the chances of getting any given rare in a pack as opposed to the odds of getting a certain rare in a pack of Legends, which was a much bigger set.

I've talked to some people about this myself, and the most common answer is that there were less cards made of Arabian than the others. I don't know if I believe that, but the other common answer was that there is no way to get a hold of a box or booster set nowadays. I'm not even sure if Gamers Paradise has them, and if they do, they're probably ranging to $10 a booster pack. I know the other sets aren't neccessarily easy to get either, but are easier than Arabian I believe. At least this is what I have heard.

Gamer's wouldn't have them. And if they did, it would probably be more like $30 a pack. The only thing I can think of is that perhaps it had a small print run.

Exactly. That is what I was trying to say in so many words.

or it could be because, other than portal 3 kingdoms, it was the only set based on the real world.

Well, not so much on the real world, more on real-world legends. On a related note, do you think they should do more sets based on real-world legends? Maybe a Greek mythology set, or an Egyptian mythology set, or a Norse mythology set like the one Ragnar put up in You Make the Card? I think it would be cool if they did that, although I don't expect it will ever happen.

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA! 30 dollars a PACK? Are you mad? I believe the going price is, oh, at least 130. It had a tiny print run, one trucks worth. That's not many at ALL. It has some really interesting cards in. It was the first Magic expansion ever made. Of course it's expensive.

But the only card that really sees tournament play is City of Brass, and I'm sure a lot of people just use the Chronicles reprint.

Which is still not an inexpensive card, mind.
