With the release of Saviors of Kamigawa coming out, it means that it won't be long until Mirrodin is no longer type 2. For those that play in tournaments, will this be good, or make little difference since they banned a lot of the deck cards in the Mirrodin block. Also will this mean a drop in prices? Hopefully I'll be able to get a Chrome Mox for a cheaper price than $10-$13.

Chrome Mox may not drop too much in price, because it's still useful in other tournament formats.
As far as what the rotation of Mirrodin out of Standard will do for the format, obviously Tooth and Nail will be gone. Affinity was already killed by the bannings, so that won't change.
Mono blue control will take a big hit with the loss of Vedalken Shackles. Some versions of white weenie are going to die because most of the equipment is rotating out, as well as the white creatures that interact with it. Kamigawa has enough good white weenies to keep the deck going though.
Solemn Simulacrum and Eternal Witness are leaving the format, which means my R/G land destruction deck is going to cease to be Standard-legal.
Also, 9th edition isn't too far off, and that may change a lot too.
