From what I'm reading on the Wizards board, Krark-Clan Ironworks seems to be very popular right now. What do you all think of it? Is it possible to build a deck around?

First concept I've seen for this card is something based on dropping a lot of quick artifacts, then having the Ironworks consume them all for a big Fireball. Not very creative, if you ask me.

Could be useful in a direct damage deck, but red isn't known to need a lot of mana, except X casting cost cards. But it isn't creative, like Maraxus said. It may work in my Arcbound deck, and it would be a useful way to bring Arcbound Overseer in play. Keeping in mind I have Arcbound Ravagers in that deck, among others.

Well, as you all know by now, KCI is viable in Type 2, although it usually isn't a first-tier deck. There are two builds of it, the one that works on the abovementioned Ironworks and Fireball combo, and the second, which uses Ironworks to play and activate Myr Incubator as quickly as possible, removing all the artifact lands from the deck, and dropping and activating Goblin Charbelcher for the win. This second variant is not only more creative, in my opinion, but also much more consistent. This I can attest to from personal experience. Incidentally, I built a Type 1 version of this deck, and without any Power 9, it can get a turn 4 kill with a decent hand. This leads me to think that a properly Powered KCI deck would be pretty viable in Type 1 were it not for that blasted Null Rod. Although, that same card is what holds back Raffinity in Type 1, so I shouldn't be too hard on it.
