Ok so two more questions. 1.) If I have a Mishras Factory out can I tap it for mana and than use that mana to turn it into a creature? I don't see why I couldn't do it. The only reason I would want to is to sack it to Tinker and was tight on mana. 2.) Let's say that my opponent has a Vampire Hexmage out and I have a Wasteland out. Next my opponent plays a Dark Depths and I immediately use my Wasteland to kill the Dark Depths land; but, can my opponent sacrifice Vampire Hexmage in response to remove the counters from dark Depths and turn him into a creature anyway?

#1. Yes, you can. There is generally little reason to do this, as it results in a 2/2 artifact creature who is tapped and therefore not very useful, but if you just want to make him an artifact you can Tinker away then it works just fine for that purpose. #2. He can. The order that effects have been placed on the stack is: 1- You activate Wasteland in an attempt to destroy Dark Depths (you can't do this in response to your opponent playing Dark Depths because playing a land, last time I checked, is not something that you can respond to on the stack). 2 - Opponent responds to Wasteland by sacrificing Vampire Hexmage. Hexmage dies immediately as the cost of putting his ability on the stack, so there's nothing you can do to the creature. And anyway, even if you kill him, his ability is already on the stack so there's nothing you can do about it. 3 - Assuming nothing else is done in response, the stack resolves, starting with the Hexmage. He removes all the counters from Dark Depths, and then Dark Depths is sacrificed. Here it's worth noting the following ruling from Dark Depths's Gatherer page: What I understand this to mean is that you can respond to its activation, say with another Wasteland if you have one, and still wipe it out before it resolves and puts the creature into play. Alternatively, you could sacrifice your Wasteland in response to Vampire Hexmage's ability being activated, which should solve the whole problem by destroying the land before Hexmage resolves and therefore causing his ability to fizzle.

Ah ok I didn't even think to do it in that order. Cool. Much appreciated!
