If you are bored here is an article I liked discussing Vintage as it currently is and debating if its too fast right now. www.eternal-central.com/?p=2333I really like Stephen's articles and I have to agree with him that Vintage is not too fast right now and has a lot of cool decks. Plus with cards like Grafdigger's Cage on the way we will probably see even more creative decks coming; especially decks revolving around creatures, which has never happened before. I also have to agree with Stephen when he says the average Vintage game takes 5.5 turns. In the tournaments I have been in I have yet to see or hear of a turn 1 win. If my Oath deck goes off uninterrupted I can pretty much take the game in turn two or three, but in a competitive Vintage game my opponent almost always has counters ready against my Oath of Druids, so this almost never happens.

Yeah you destroyed and humiliated us with it but in all faiiness It was a one sided fight. I imagine a well prepared opponent wouldn't fall so easily. I've ever only heard of theory first turn wins with a perfect hand. I've never really dug into it so I've never seen or heard its happened.

Yeah I mean in theory my deck could do it but its extremely unlikely and any counterspells wouls prevent it.

From what I seen the other day vintage isn't all that fast. when they give you 50 minutes for 3 games and in some cases time really does run out that really lays to rest the myth of the 1 turn kill. Now a vintage deck against a casual deck that is quite another story.

Yeah that is definitely true. The one game I played against a Mishra's Workshop deck we ran out of time, but before the 5 turns ran out after time was called I was able to win the match. I was actually a little worried it would have come down to a draw.
