So Im thinking of going to Gen Con in mid August (16-19) this year and I wanted to let everyone know in case anyone wanted to come with and split costs. I'm also reaching out to some of the old HeroClix folk to see if any of them are going. The main reason I'm going is to play in the Vintage Championship as well as just to see what its all about. I see that 4 day badges are $70 and the hotel rooms are what's expensive; like $100-$150 a night so splitting them is almost a necessity.

Hotels are bad and the worst part is if you read the fine print that 100 or so is before they apply taxes and all the other fees. Any money saved on hotels though can at least be used for food and more importantly making some purchases. Why go all that way and not pick something up while there.

Thanks John and yeah its true that any savings on hotels can be used for purchases. I definitely don't want to go and not buy anything. Especially after you told me about the Chessex barrel of dice thing; good way to get some dice.

Yeah its sort of like buying the 1 lb bag of dice except you physically get to scoop up random dice.
