So this is a deck I want to try at the monthly vintage tournament. Basically the idea behind the deck is use cards like Chalice of the Void, Sphere of Resistance, Smokestack, and Tangle Wire to prevent your opponent from doing anything while you bash them with creatures.
The deck involves some heavy stack manipulation with Smokestack and Tangle Wire that I am still getting used to. Both cards have been errata-ed to have their abilities trigger during the beginning of a player's upkeep and since they both work at that time you get to choose which order to do the abilities on the cards (adding counters and then sacking permanents or vice versa for Smokestack, and the same goes for removing counters and then tapping permanents or vice versa for Tangle Wire).
I also found out that on your opponents turn you control the order they do things as well since you control both cards. Also, you get to do Tangle Wire and Smokestack's abilities before your opponent's upkeep abilities trigger. Like if they had Oath of Druids out or a Dark Confidant. It works this way because during your opponent's turn the non-active player, you, goes onto the stack 2nd after the active player, your opponent, which means that your abilities exit the stack first (the stack always goes last in, first out).
Have I confused you to a point where you can't remember your name yet? Well I'll just post the deck then.
