Being a Massive fan of Diablo II, I waited on this game for years, and it finally has a firm release date in about a month, I should be happy, right?

I'm not, before this game is even released, I'm completly disappointed to the point that I will not be buying this game. I don't care about playing online at all, but to play this game at all, single player included you have to log in to their servers, where your characters are stored.

That is a deal breaker for me. I see no valid reason I should have to log into their servers, or why I should be kicked off of the game (My internet really sucks) when trying to take down a dungeon boss on my own private 1 player game.

it's to "make sure people only have legit characters for multiplayer, without having to have a different character for single and multi player" I'm pretty sure it's just a way to punish legit gamers for pirating. So after it's cracked and can be played offline.. I MIGHT download it.. heh.

Is Diablo 3 supposed to play like WoW in that it takes the Warcraft I,II, and III and puts everything in an online interactive world?

No, it's a sequal to Diablo II, but not a mmo. The online is basically just to play the campaign as multiplayer. it's basically online such as a game like the Saints Row series.

That blows its the same reason I idn't get Silent Hill 5 on PC I hate the iea of having to have a Steam account to play. My wife got me into the diablo games and I even managed to get the expansion to 2 an considered shelling out the insane money for the expansion for 1. I even wanted to go as far as paying fo the year subscription to WoW for the deluxe diablo 3 they were offering for people who paid. So this is indeed dissapointing news.

Yeah I don't like Steam much either and am not a fan of being forced to be online to play. I can get it being an option but for this type of game I don't see why it should be mandatory.

so according to the guy in the video it will be coming out on the consoles as well... if I don't have to log in to xbox live to play it, I'll get it for that eventually.

Yeah I don't think its coming out on consoles at the same time as PCs, but that is cool news to hear.

I've been playing the Beta and its pretty darn fun I must say. I've played the Wizard, Barbarian, and Monk and so far they are all really fun but my favorite is between the Barbarian and Monk. I want to name my Monk Bruce Leeroy Norris!
