During the summer I wanted to buy a box of Tempest booster packs, but it would have costed me $300. Would anyone pay this amount? If I had the $300 I would, and I'm guessing the same is true for many of you around here.

I like Tempest quite a bit, in fact it numbers among my favorite sets. However, $300 for a booster box is a hell of a lot. That comes out to $8.33 a pack, and that's insane. I couldn't bring myself to pay that much for a pack of anything but Unlimited or older, and then only if I was sure that nobody had checked to see what the rare was (in those days packs were made in a way that it was possible to tell what was inside them before opening them).

I wouldn't. With that you could buy about three Unglued, nearly four of any of the modern set. No way Hoseh (sp?).

The thing is, a box of Tempest wouldn't even come close to paying for itself because there really aren't that many high price cards in the set. Closest I can think of is Time Warp.

Which is why I wouldn't buy a box of Tempest for $300.

... Wait, Time Warp is high-cost?
