I know that Morphling is supposed to be insanely powerful, but I don't really understand why. I guess it just isn't apparent to me why this is supposed to be so good. Can someone explain it to me? (Looks in the direction of IAmJacksScreenName).

I think it was explained at one time or another to you. i don't remember though Yeah, some time after I originally posted this I asked Jake and he explained it. The theory is that if you have the mana, it's almost impossible to kill. You try to kill it with a Terror, they make it untargetable. You go to block it with your Darksteel Colossus, they give it flying. You block it with a flier, and he pumps its power big enough to kill your creature, then in response to combat damage he pumps its toughness. Then when you go to attack next turn he untaps the Morphling and blocks. But honestly, presuming they have as much mana as they want to play with Morphling is quite an assumption, especially given that blue sucks at mana acceleration. And if I had infinite mana, I could think of better things to do with it (like Nantuko Shade).

That illumianted things for me, thanks. Yes, but consider this: Blue's main strategy is control. Whilst playing Control, you often have mana open. And your opponent should have few threats available at this point, most of which 'Phling is able to deal with. Thanks, Maraxus, the pieces fall into place.

Well, you have the mana open if you don't use it to counter something.

Then I figure out I'm missing one tiny insignificant piece.
