I had forgotten this board was for card combos as well as decks, so this topic almost went in the general board, but it properly belongs here. The other day I died to Megrim + Pain Magnification + Furnace of Rath. I think it's absolutely brilliant, and to top it off, the player then proceeded to throw down a ludicrously huge Cryptborn Horror after I died, which he used to kill the other player next turn. It was frightening and awesome at the same time.

Yeah, it was Luke, the guy whose housewarming party I was at. He's pretty evil as a player sometimes (he's another guy who plays slivers ).

Y'know, I don't know if that's ever happened. I think it may have once, but I don't remember how it went. Anyway, I'm pretty sure this combo I posted about is obvious, but just in case I'll describe how it works. Thanks to some mana acceleration in the form of Dark Ritual and something similar for red, he was able to throw down all three combo pieces at once. The following turn, I got hit with a Lightning Bolt, which the Furnace doubled to 6 damage. This caused Pain Magnification to trigger, so I had to discard, which triggered Megrim for 2 more damage, doubled to 4 (total damage now = 10). That's enough to trigger Pain Magnification again, so I had to discard another card, take another 4 damage, and drop my entire hand of 6 cards. In the process I took about 30 damage, which was more than enough to eliminate me, and made for a really scary Cryptborn Horror for everyone else to deal with.

Yep, fun for everyone...Well really only the person that set off the combo, but hey...
