Just got back from the midnight pre-release, picked Selesnya and got paired with Simic. Got a very nice pool of cards with lots of synergy. went 3-0 (top 6 intentional drew instead of playing final round) only dropped one game and it was because of keeping a terrible opening hand.

Sounds good dude. So what do you think of the set? I've been hearing from vintage players its bad, but they tend to have a VERY skewed idea of what is good lol.

I don't think it's going to have a ton of impact on constructed outside of a few cards. People will try to force Ral Zarek just because of his splashy ultimate. I think it is going to be very good for drafts, cards such as unflinching courage (Armadillo Cloak functional reprint)and some of the split cards. The Gruul guild leader will find some play in EDH (6/6 creature that deals 6 damage to any player when they cast a non-creature spell)
outside of limited, it's not going to have a huge impact, but has nice flavor and a really good limited game I think.

Fair enough. Probably for the best. We don't want every set to be groundbreaking.

Honestly, there's been enough of that in the last couple years. I would be pretty comfortable with them settling at the power level they've displayed in this block.
Of course, we know that's not going to happen. Sometime in the next four years there will be cards that make those Eldrazi legends from a couple years ago look weak.
