Well, not necessarily. If you cast False Cure in response to the Beacon, it will resolve first. If it weren't an instant it would be a useless card.

yeah, thats true. Their life wouldn't become zero it would become the negative of whatever it was before because you lose 2 for every 1 you gain.

Yes but it doesn't prevent you actually gaining that life. So, say I'm at 20 life, and I cast Beacon of Immortality, then you play False Cure. The False Cure resolves first, then the Beacon hits. I gain 20 life, bumping myself up to 40, and instantly I lose twice what I gained (putting me at an even 0).

well, onto a more interesting combo. yours are just lame. Manabarbs and Drain PowerYour opponent takes lots of damage, and you have plenty of mana to spend however you want. just be sure you have a way to rid yourself of the mana, otherwise you take a lot of mana burn.
