...flanking...
ok for a set mechanic how about, matter (when a spell is played with matter, seach your deck for a land card and put it into play tapped)
and for the civilized side..mind (when a spell is played with mind, search your deck for an artifact that costs 3 or less and put it into play tapped)
i'm open to sugestions on how to make these better.

Mind-Oh gods, not that. It reminds me of Mirrodin... Which causes me pain.
Matter-Uh.. Kind of random, not enough interest to last a block, I think.
Sorry.

I like the names Mind and Matter, it plays up the idea of opposing mechanics for the two sides, which I think would be totally awesome. The specific mechanics though, should be ironed out a bit. Matter should probably be restricted to basic lands because if it can pull any land... well, all I have to say is Gaea's Cradle and Tolarian Academy. Also, we need to find ways to spin it, put twists on it, so that it can have enough versatility to make more than just a couple cards. Mind... not sure about that one. After all the artifact insanity that was Mirrodin, I think Butcher Orgg(s) is right, we should shy away from artifacts. I thought about suggesting enchantments instead, but unless we really played up enchantments in this block, they really aren't versatile enough. Hey, that's a thought...... we could make local enchantments a sub-theme of the block, especially for the "law" colors. Opinions?

actually, thats not a bad idea. wasn;t that what we thought kamigawa was gonna be before they announced the legend thing?
I like the idea. 1 vote for enchantment sub theme here

Sure, why not?
At this rate, we'll have a full set in, oh, just five or so years.

Me too. Someday, someone should make a decent enchantment block. By which I mean, one which is not brokenated.

Seems popular enough to make the enchantment thing a go.
So let's change Mind to work with enchantments instead of artifacts. But that brings up the question, should it be any kind of enchantment, or local ones (a.k.a. Enchant Creature, Enchant Land, etc.)?

Maybe some of each? I think it would be cool to have some creatures that say "When this creature comes into play, search your library for a creature enchantment and put it into play enchanting this creature" or something to that effect. Perhaps one set can have local enchantment puller-things (that's a technical term ), the next set can have global, and the last set have both?
